Feria de Zaragoza held the first meeting of the FIGAN 2027 Organising Committee on 28 January. This meeting marks the official start of the organisational work for the next edition of the event, which will take place from 16 to 19 March 2027, and has served as a starting point for defining the new strategic guidelines that will shape the development of the fair.
nnnnDuring the meeting, held at the Feria de Zaragoza facilities, participants expressed their commitment to continuing to promote FIGAN as a key hub for business, innovation, knowledge and talent across the entire value chain of the livestock sector, strengthening its positioning and capacity to respond to new market challenges.
nnnnIn this new phase, the Committee will be chaired by Ramรณn Alsina, CEO of bonรrea Agrupa. Another major development is the incorporation of Piensos Costa and Premier Pigs into the Organising Committee.
nnnnRamรณn Alsina has emphasised that “FIGAN is not only a gathering for the livestock sector itself, but also its reflection before society. It works to highlight the sector’s activity, strengthen its recognition and ensure that society as a whole appreciates the true importance of the livestock industry.”
nnnnThe importance of continuing to develop a fair that is ever more connected with the sector, open to international trends and committed to sustainability, efficiency, animal welfare and the promotion of generational renewal was also underlined.

nnnnThe strategy for the next edition includes the strengthening of international missions, developed in collaboration with commercial offices, industry influencers and livestock producer associations.
nnnnInitiatives such as FIGAN Conecta Talento and FIGAN Jรณvenes Ganaderos will be revived and consolidated, aimed at attracting new generations, fostering professionalisation and addressing strategic challenges such as generational renewal, rural depopulation, and the attraction and retention of talent. The event will also once again host the country’s leading commodity exchanges, reinforcing its role as an economic and sectoral reference point.
nnnnThe 18th edition will once again bring to the fore the recognition of innovation, excellence and commitment within the livestock sector through its Competition for Innovations and Technological Improvements and its Excellence Awards.
