- Marta Lafarque, Avianza’s Head of Internationalisation, has formalised the agreement within the framework of the collaboration with the CIIE
- The memorandum provides for continued participation in the trade fair and the promotion of commercial relations between both markets
Following Spain’s signing on 28 April 2025 of the historic protocol for the export of poultry meat to the Asian giant, Avianza takes a decisive step in its expansion strategy. The inter-branch organisation signed today, 15 April 2026, a cooperation memorandum with the China International Import Expo (CIIE), securing a continued presence at one of the world’s most important commercial showcases.
The agreement was signed by Marta Lafarque, Head of Internationalisation at Avianza; Hua Wei, President of NECC (National Exhibition and Convention Center) Shanghai; and Yang Kaiyu, General Director for Europe at ICBC (Industrial and Commercial Bank of China), and lays the foundations for a collaboration aimed at promoting the presence of the Spanish poultry sector at one of the leading commercial showcases worldwide. The memorandum provides for, among other aspects, continued participation in the trade fair and the development of joint actions to facilitate contact between companies and buyers.

Specifically, the agreement establishes Avianza‘s intention to actively collaborate in the promotion of the China International Import Expo, supporting the attraction of buyers and companies interested in establishing commercial relations, while at the same time fostering the Spanish poultry sector’s access to new business opportunities in the Asian market.

The memorandum also reflects Avianza’s intention to participate in initiatives linked to the CIIE ecosystem, such as the Hongqiao International Economic Forum, as well as in other cooperation projects that contribute to strengthening ties between both markets.
This two-year commitment will facilitate direct contact between Spanish companies and Chinese buyers, in addition to integrating the sector into strategic forums such as that of Hongqiao.

With this signing, the Spanish poultry meat sector not only celebrates the opening of a market of 1.4 billion consumers, but also establishes the infrastructure needed for Spanish products to play a leading role in the growing Asian demand.
