Madrid, 20 February 2026 โ The broiler poultry sector faces an increasingly complex landscape, shaped by raw material cost volatility, tighter regulation, and the need to optimise every technical aspect to ensure profitability. Under the theme “Profitability and Food Safety”, Trouw Nutrition held its 16th Broiler Poultry Conference yesterday in Madrid, bringing together the sector’s key stakeholders, including representatives from companies, public bodies, and professional associations.
A comprehensive analysis of the sector
The event featured the participation of leading experts from Avianza, Rabobank, FEFAC, the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food (MAPA), CESAC and CECAV, who debated the sector’s economic evolution, foreign trade, and competitiveness scenarios within the European Union and at a global level. Jordi Monfort (Avianza) and Nan-Dirk Mulder (Rabobank) offered a macroeconomic perspective, while Pedro Cordero (FEFAC) analysed the impact of European regulation on the competitiveness of poultry integration operations.
Profitability: precision and process control
In a context where margins are defined by details such as feed conversion ratio, uniformity, and viability, technical control has become a strategic factor. Marcos Bartolomรฉ, Commercial Director of Trouw Nutrition, highlighted that “profitability no longer depends on a single factor, but on the ability to reduce variability and anticipate risks. Rigorous, data-driven technical management transforms efficiency into real and sustainable margin”. During the conference, innovative tools and solutions were presented, such as Nutex phytocomplexes, which are demonstrating tangible improvements in production efficiency.

Food safety: a pillar of competitiveness
Food safety was another central theme, addressed from both Feed Safety and Food Safety perspectives. Alfredo Corujo (Trouw Nutrition Espaรฑa) stressed the importance of strengthening control and traceability standards, while Emilio Garcรญa Muro (MAPA) outlined the current regulatory framework and its evolution. Pablo Catalรก (CECAV) and Ramรณn Jovรฉ (CESAC) also participated, contributing a technical and scientific perspective.
Commitment to the sector’s future
With this 16th edition, Trouw Nutrition reaffirms its commitment to generating technical knowledge and creating analytical forums where market dynamics, production efficiency, and food safety are addressed in an integrated manner. In an increasingly complex environment, the combination of strategic vision, technical rigour, and institutional alignment is consolidating as the key to the sustainability of the broiler poultry sector.
